What does Merino Optimo stand for?
Merino Optimo is the merino wool with the highest quality grade available. The wool of these merino sheep grows faster and denser than that of conventional merino sheep, the fibre is fine and long. It feels so soft and supple that it is compared to cashmere. That is why this merino wool was given the name "Optimo" - the best.
The properties of merino wool
Merino wool has many positive properties that make it particularly popular: The wool of merino sheep is particularly fine and does not scratch the skin. It absorbs up to 30% of its own weight in moisture without feeling damp. This keeps the sock dry and warm for a long time. The keratin in the wool has a natural antibacterial effect and does not absorb odours.
Care instructions
You can wash the socks on the wool cycle with wool detergent.
Our recommendation: Use a laundry bag. Because of the high wool content, so-called pilling can occur during washing. This means that the wool loses fibres during washing, a natural process that does not affect the function of the socks. Shoes with rough inner surfaces accelerate this process.
