Toe slippers for the whole family

Designing Knitido Home toe socks was also something special for us. The idea was to create toe socks for the home - toe socks for the whole family. They should be naturally warming and robust at the same time. An ABS coating should protect against slipping. And a harmonious, timeless design was needed.

The right yarn

For the yarn, we chose a cozy, warming blend of New Zealand merino wool and cashmere. The socks are soft, warm very comfortably and do not scratch the skin. At the same time, they are thick, as you would expect from house socks. Since wool is a delicate material, but house socks have to withstand a lot, we have synthetically reinforced the yarn.

Key details: toes and calf

The socks reach just below the calf - so you can wear them in the evening as couch socks for lounging on the sofa, but also as bed socks, hut socks and so on. Special attention is paid to the cuffs and shaft. The socks are designed without a constricting elastic band and are very suitable for sensitive calves. The shaft is knitted in such a way that it nestles against the calf throughout and does not slip. The toes are extra curved and of different sizes and lengths in the 3D knitting process. The fabric adds a little bulk to the toes and opens up the spaces between the toes. This allows air to enter and ensures a more balanced temperature and less sweating. Any sweat that is produced is bound by the merino yarn without the sock feeling damp or cooling down. The natural keratin in merino wool has a self-cleaning effect and prevents odors from developing.

Also suitable for outdoors?

Our house socks are designed for use in the house. There is nothing to prevent them from being used in shoes, but please note that the socks add some bulk in the toe area. We therefore recommend wide shoes. In tight shoes, friction points can easily occur, where the material rubs through. As wool socks for outdoors, we recommend wool socks that are less bulky.

The right care

Please note that wool is naturally a delicate material. Our house socks are reinforced with synthetic yarns, but please still handle them with care and take care of them properly.

The toe socks are washable up to 30°C, we recommend a wool cycle and wool detergent. These toe socks are made larger and then shrunk by hot air. As a rule, they do not shrink any further when washed. Laundry bags protect against voracious washing machines. Do not iron, do not tumble dry. Wash inside out, and if necessary, pull the toes out of the inside of the sock before washing. Caution: Never cut threads inside the socks. Please note: Due to their fiber structure, wool yarns tend to pill, especially where there is friction.
