We want you to enjoy wearing your Knitido toe socks for as long as possible, because our products are made with the work of many diligent hands and attentive eyes. Therefore, here are some useful tips on how to extend the life of your Knitido toe socks.
Knitido has been producing toe socks from various materials for over 30 years. Based on this experience, we determine the care instructions for our products. Trust us, your socks will love you for it.
If you no longer have the sock labels with the care instructions, that's no problem. The respective care instructions are also available on the corresponding product pages.
By the way: Our toe socks do not shrink when washed. We have already taken care of that for you and shrunk the socks to the correct size during production.

People who wear toe socks tend to pay more attention to their feet. The simple act of putting them on in the morning requires a certain degree of awareness that we rarely give our feet otherwise.
Take a moment to care for your feet and toenails. If they are short and even, you can confidently put on and enjoy your toe socks. However, if you notice that your toenails have corners and edges, we recommend shortening them. Because toenails that are too long act like a knife in shoes and cut into the stretched sock fabric. They are the number one cause of holes in socks.
When manufacturing Knitido toe socks, hiding the loose threads is one of the most complex steps. Threads inevitably arise during production and usually do not cause any problems if they are loose inside the sock. Each individual thread of a toe sock is moved to the inside by hand. Please never cut these threads, as this will cause the toe sock to unravel.
If you turn the socks inside out, you will find the loose threads between the individual toe chambers. During production, we make sure that the threads are cut, do not get tangled, and do not form loops that constrict the toe chambers.
If a thread sticks out between the toe chambers after washing, try carefully pushing the thread back inside with a thin crochet hook. To do this, carefully insert the hook from the inside through the fabric of the toe sock, grab the thread with the hook, and carefully pull it inward.
Toe socks are exposed to greater physical stress than "normal" socks. We advise you to first pull the toe socks off the heel and then off the individual toes when taking them off. This protects the material. You will notice if a nail gets caught on the fabric and can react accordingly.
The toe pockets are the part of your toe socks that absorb foot sweat when worn. It is therefore important that they are thoroughly cleaned during washing. And the best way to do this is to turn the toe pockets inside out beforehand. Simply run your fingers into the sock to do this.
People keep asking us how they can iron their socks. However, as the sock fabric is very sensitive to heat, we strongly advise against it. If you still want to iron your socks, please do so on the lowest setting and place a cotton cloth between the iron and the toe sock to avoid damaging the structure of the delicate fabric.
Each piece of laundry loses lint in the washing machine, which floats through the water during the washing process. If this water is rinsed through the toe socks, the lint tends to get caught in the constrictions, especially in the toe pockets.
Our recommendation is therefore to wash your toe socks in laundry bags.
Note our care instructions and increase the lifespan of your Knitido toe socks. We hope you enjoy them. If you have any further questions or feedback about our products, please contact us. We are happy to help.
