Secure a basic supply of Dr. Foot® toe socks:
Knitido Dr. Foot Silver Protect® toe socks protect your feet from bacterial and fungal infections, as well as foot odor. Effective due to a secure cotton thread with a silver core.
The advantage of toe socks over conventional silver socks and chemical agents: the thread is effective during the entire wearing time, even in places that conventional socks cannot reach. The silver remains on the nylon thread of the sock and only becomes effective through direct contact with the outer shell of the germs, i.e. only when it lies on the skin.
The heel, toes, and spaces between the toes are particularly susceptible to germs. That's why we've incorporated a cotton thread with a silver core at the forefoot and heel. Upon contact, the thread dissolves the outer layer of pathogens and kills them.
The interdigital spaces are particularly protected retreats for bacteria and microbes. Favored by the poor ventilation in the footwear, a warm and humid "greenhouse climate" prevails here with ideal reproduction conditions for germs.
Toe socks significantly improve the foot climate by widening the spaces between the toes. This change in the microclimate – less temperature and less moisture – worsens the living conditions of the harmful germs. The silver thread, which lies directly on the skin in the spaces between the toes, can combat the germs locally.
Normal toe socks without silver fiber are already a step towards improving foot health because they
Toe socks with silver thread have an additional antimicrobial effect by attacking existing germs.
Conventional socks enclose the entire foot, but do not reach between the toes. As a result, the toes are pressed together and ventilation and dehumidification of the spaces between them are impaired. This retreat and refuge for microbes is spared by the antimicrobial substance, which slows down the action process and leaves a breeding ground for repeated infections.
The European Textile Labeling Regulation does not provide any labeling options for silver threads in the material composition.
Tests confirm that even after 200 washes, 99% of the antimicrobial effectiveness is retained.

The Silver Protect toe socks go one step further: their silver yarn has an additional antimicrobial effect and helps protect against germs.
"Normal" socks wrap around the foot without taking into account the natural shape of the toes. As a result, the toes are pressed together - exactly where germs hide particularly well. The antimicrobial fabric can barely reach these gaps, which further encourages the growth of microbes.
This is precisely where Silver Protect toe socks can provide targeted help.
The European Textile Labeling Regulation does not provide for the possibilityof labeling silver threads in the material labeling.
We use a silver thread that does not lose its effectiveness. Even after 200washes, 99% of the antimicrobial effectiveness is retained.
No, we only use a yarn with silver content, which can naturally help to reduce germs.
However, if you have an infection, athlete's foot or other complaints, you should always consult a doctor first.
